Kharisma owner Debbie Comeaux has quite a pedigree both in salon management and in styling.
For nearly three decades, Debbie (she’s a first name type of person) immaculately managed the staff and operations of Norris of Houston, one of Houston and the Galleria district’s most prominent and successful salons. Always keen to stay current, Debbie never left the floor and maintained both a client list and cutting-edge styling techniques.
With such vast and market-specific experience, it was just a matter of time before Debbie ventured into ownership. She jumped at the chance to acquire Kharisma Hair Studio in early 2015 and continues to be delighted with her decision. She is energized by the wonderful clients, the ultra-talented staff, and the location.
Debbie was insistent on retaining all the special qualities that Kharisma clients expect, but she also has continued to improve the salon and the salon experience for clients.
Meanwhile, Debbie has vowed never to permanently relinquish her scissors to administrative duties. She continues to care for her many valued clients and to accept new bookings as-available. She very much hopes to meet you on your next visit to the salon.
Vanessa comes with over 20 years of hair stylist experience working behind the chair. Starting out as a Great Lengths certified stylist since 2004, she is a titan in the industry with a myriad of influences of ability. She is highly sought after for special engagement bookings.
Vanessa is Brazilian blowout and GK treatment certified, as well as Ouidad cut and curl certified since 2010. Her teaching style is commanding yet formidable. She has been a Wella Certified Master Color Expert and educator since 2016. In 2019, Vanessa completed Wella Cut Craft training. Her comedic and concise candor is why she is one of the most sought out instructors for Wella.
Professionalism, product knowledge and precision is what you can expect from Vanessa when you sit in her chair. Coupled with her candor, she continues to be a fan favorite in her hometown of Houston, as evidenced by her client loyalty.
Celebrity colorist Beth Minardi has dedicated her career to elevating salon professional hair color to an art form. Beth began her colorful career in New York City where she became Director of Hair Color at Clairol and later at Redken, where she educated thousands of colorists throughout the United States.
As co-owner of Minardi Salon located on Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side, she tended to the tresses of discerning men and women including, Christi Brinkley, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Sarah Jessica Parker, Renee Russo, Uma Thurman, Sean Penn, Mandy Moore, and numerous other notables.

Cindie Buno’s talent was apparent at a very early age. She began her career at Norris Hair styling of Houston and has remained at the forefront of the industry, including owning and operating one of the most successful salons in Houston. She has received numerous awards, placing her as one of Houston’s leading hair care professionals. Cindie specializes in cutting, designing and styling men’s hair, and is known for exceptional customer service — and always going above and beyond to accommodate her clients. Cindie has a very personable style — she refers to her clients as friends — and we are proud to welcome Cindie to the Kharisma team.
Ashley got her start as an apprentice under one of Houston’s premier hairstylists and has over two decades of experience in color, highlighting, hair styling and hair cutting. She attended the Wella Academy in New York and is a certified Wella master colorist. Ashley is also certified in GK smoothing treatments and has attended Aguage training for both hair styling and hair cutting. Most importantly, she specializes in the integrity of hair and ensures that her clients are in love with their transformation.
Courtney has over two decades of experience in hair design. Inspired by European art, Courtney considers hair styling as a form of canvas and sculpture, incorporating this philosophy into her work. Courtney specializes in hair styling, color, color correction, and highlights.
Naz has been styling and coloring hair since 1980, and has worked for top salons around the world in Tehran, Paris, Los Angeles and Houston. Trained extensively in Paris, Los Angeles and New York, Naz specializes in styling, cuts, razor cuts, and is certified in Brazilian Blowout treatments. Naz is highly adept at unique color application and highlights thanks to her broad experience and deep knowledge of hair color ‘trade secrets.’
Karla’s training began when she apprenticed as an Aquage platform artist — where she quickly acquired top-notch styling skills. She received certification from Wella international color and has trained at many cutting and design academies in the U.S. Karla is passionate about her work, particularly for special-occasion hair styles and up-dos. Karla is dedicated to client satisfaction — and has the patience and abilities to bring out the best looks for her clients.
Mark began his stylist career over 30 years ago in Boston Massachusetts. During his six years as Style Director at one of Boston’s Top Salons, Mark studied with Rusk, Toni & Guy , and was featured in fashion and style shows. Mark moved to Houston in 1993 and spent 17 years as a top stylist at Tova’s Day Spa. Mark specializes in short hair, and introduced perfect “Clipper over Comb” cuts for women. Mark is passionate about his art, and considers his greatest reward “helping clients achieve their potential by changing their styles.”
Kimberly has 35 years experience in creative , cutting, styling and custom hair color. Kimberly received extensive education from some of the finest industry teachers, and trained in New York with Wella international color and Joe Black, Loreal color USA, and many others. She brings to the table countless hours spent one-on-one in Rusk precision cuts, her experience with Toni and Guy in advanced cutting, and skills obtained at Aquage international cutting academy. Her passion and love for her clients motivates her and facilitates her true gift: helping others discover exciting hair styles that bring out their best looks.
Melina has four decades of industry experience, specializing in color, highlights and curly hair. She is also certified in Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatments. She trained and worked with Vidal Sassoon and Bruno Dessange and worked in London, Paris, New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Tokyo. Melina specializes in Japanese thermo reconditioning and was the first to provide this specialty in Houston. Past clients include celebrities like Raquel Welch, Barbara Hershey, Carol Burnett, Jane Alexander and Jessica Lang.
Melina recently completed the prestigious Master Color Expert training at the Wella Academy in New York City, acquiring Master Color Expert (MCE) certification, becoming one of only three MCE certified colorists in Texas. Melina loves a challenge, and the seven-month coursework, along with the classroom time that required several trips to New York, proved to be just that. More importantly, however, she wants to offer her clients the most advanced techniques and products. “This certification allows me to heighten my client’s experience and results with each visit to the salon,” says Melina.
Erika discovered her hairstyling passion from an early age. She has been an artist behind the chair for over a decade.
Erika was trained to cut under the Tony&Guy system. Her color knowledge comes from a very prestigious L’Oreal exclusive salon in Houston. She constantly goes to classes to keep up with the latest trends and color technology in order to achieve a look while making the integrity of the hair a priority. Color corrections and blondes are the most fun for her to do. In addition to that, she has great passion for upstyles and special event up-dos, making sure your hair goes well with the outfit and the special occasion. Erika is also certified in tape-in and hand-tied extensions.

Vikki Castillo joins the Kharisma team from Sensia Day Spa with over 25 years of experience. Her extensive education and training in Japanese thermal straightening treatment has brought her great notoriety in the hair salon community. Vikki also specializes in Brazilian and Keratin smoothing treatments, as well as providing stunning blow-drys. An extremely creative stylist and colorist, her passion is beautiful hair and providing an inspiring look for her clients in both style and color. Kharisma is excited to welcome Vikki and her talent to our team.
Anel Martinez joins the Kharisma team from Sensia Day Spa. Her artistic talent is displayed in the beautiful cuts and finishes she creates. A favorite downtime activity of hers is to continue with education on the latest trends in hair styles. Her cuts, colors and treatments prove this to be true. In addition, Anel is always in demand for her Brazilian Blowouts and Keratin treatments as well as her beautiful blow-drys. Providing clipper cuts and fashionable hair styles for men is a result of her extensive training and another example of her creativity. Anel is adored by both her clients and fellow Kharisma hair stylists; Kharisma welcomes her professionalism and creativity to our team.
